Which is better, 20K+ Followers and 200 Likes with little to no Comments & Shares, or 5K Followers and 3K Likes with hundreds of Comments & Shares? Let's discuss!

The more followers the better right? Not always... Having engagement on your posts is found to be way more important for your brand than being able to say you have thousands to millions of followers.
Why Do You Need Engagement?
“Having a lot of Followers shows your credibility though...right?”
Let's pretend you own your own clothing line, you just started out and have a few hundred followers. Your posts get minimal Likes, Comments, Shares, etc. so you decide to buy Followers so you look more "popular." Now you have many more Followers on you page but your not getting any additional Likes, Comments, etc. because fake accounts don't engage with your posts & more importantly, fake accounts don't buy products!
That being said, having a high engagement rate on your page is far better than a high follower count as you build your brand. In addition to building credibility with real people versus bot accounts, you will be able to your focus your content based on what your engaging Followers like to see!
Creating Your Social Media Relevance
Social Media Relevance can be achieved by creating a page that is trending, engaging, and inspiring. Keeping your Followers interested will help you attract potential new Followers as well. In order to accomplish this, here are some tips.
Post content users engage with.
Post creatively & keep up to date with popular trends!
Stay true to your niche or your account's vibe; stick with what your Followers seem to like.
Tag, Hashtag, Geotag, & have catchy Captions.
Make your account your own & unique. Stand out!
Try & Try Again!
“You'll miss 100% of the shots you don't take." -Wayne Gretzky
Social media is a great way to connect with a community of people who share interests, a large range of audiences, friends/family, & discover new ideas & information. It should also be fun! Whether social media has become your business or brand, or if you just post for fun, stay consistent. Post often. If you don't post enough. you can't reach your social media goals! Turning into a mega content creator or influencer rarely happens overnight (even if a post goes viral). Staying on top of your Social Media Relevance, keeping up with trends, and continuing to post what your Followers engage is no easy task and takes time! Stay focused on your goals & enjoy the journey!
