Over half of the world's population is on social media. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc. are great places to reach new customers. According to Instagram, 83% of people on the platform say they discover new products or services on the platform.

Staying Ahead of Trends & Competition

It is important to know what users are saying about your brand online!

Competition is good for business, it creates new ideas, could potentially drive business, gets you thinking of better ways to get things done, & makes your social media try to be the best that it can.

Keeping up with trends by posting what is popular relating to your brand's image could be anything from donating to a cause that relates to your company, posting a photo for a holiday, or even posting a TikTok to music that people are enjoying at the time. By following trends on social media, your helping boost your brand's image whether it is for your business or personal use posting along with trends will help users find and interact with your page.

In order to stay ahead of your competition you do need to watch what they are posting (& they are probably also watching you)! By doing this you will not only see what they are up to, new services or products they are promoting, but also you can see how their customers view their brand.

Read their comments, do people like their products? Do people ask for a certain new product or want a new service? You can also see what competitors are being tagged in, good & bad. See what the page is mentioned in reviews online? How relevant are you to their followers and what do their followers need that your competitor isn't providing but you can.

More Engagement Online = More Leads = More Revenue

Becoming relevant on social media for your brand is more than just getting the most followers. If you are providing a service or product and want to gain more customers posting online and being able to engage with your followers is a great way to build relationships with potential and existing customers.

Posting photos of your business is great free advertising! Using hashtags, tagging accounts your collaborating with, geo-tagging the location of your business are all great ways to get followers and have your page be seen by target audiences. You can also run Ads on social media that will most definitely help boost your brand's page to be seen on more users timelines. Also the more engagement and presence you have online, the better your SEO!

It is not always about which brand has the most followers anymore, users are focusing on reviews of businesses. On social media, the comment section for a business page has also become the reviews section. Which is good news! If users are commenting on your photos how much they love your products or services more users will want to click on your page and see what your brand sells.

Controlling Your Reputation

This is hard, but not impossible!

To have social media relevance you must engage back with your followers and customers. You can do this by responding to reviews, comments, tagged posts, timeline posts, stories, etc. This is extremely time consuming but if you want to succeed in the world of social media this is vital to making sure your brand has a beneficial reputation online for your brand/business. Responding to both positive and negative reviews and comments quickly and professionally could rescue a bad review and gain you a loyal customer.
